Recovery vs. Exercise
I am thinking about this a lot as I begin to market my course and wanting to reach the most women as possible. It’s really for everyone but a delicate balance to explain why and how based on your fitness experience and mentality. Here are a couple thoughts, where do you fall? Are you bootcamp exercise or recovery? Somewhere in the middle is also a brilliant answer!! And I’ll let you in on a secret, the answer is it works for all of you!
Post Pregnancy Bootcamp Ladies: This program will work for you. Everyone would love to jump back in to their normal routine after having a baby, and many do, especially if they were exercising a lot during the pregnancy. You “know” how and can push yourself.
However, that’s not ideal because even if you are feeling good, small changes in the way you are moving your body during exercises and counteracting body compensations during pregnancy (like alignment) can make a drastic impact on your physical appearance, core strength and your ability to rebuild that foundation.
You have a bootcamp mentality to just get after it and hit goals. Trust me ladies, I get it, I’ve BEEN THERE. But you know what I discovered, learning these tips can actually make you stronger than you have ever been, workouts more efficient and more impactful. What if the squat, lunge, bicep curl or run could also be a core workout? Or engaging specific back muscles could pull pain out of your neck and shoulders whether you are breastfeeding or not. There is no shame in educating yourself and re-learning a bit to give yourself a serious leg up - get yourself AHEAD not just back!
Postpartum Recovery Ladies: This program will work for you. Women who are comfortable with their lifestyle, not anxious to hit the gym necessarily but fully recognize that they are living with discomfort since pregnancy that they would like to solve or eliminate, these are my ladies that think more about this as a recovery from a massive event (which it is!). Learning to do certain movements for the first time, and executing them perfectly to replicate on your own, in a gym or home setting is EMPOWERING! Seriously, just doing the dishes and laundry should provide an opportunity for a core workout if you are standing and breathing properly. For you, bootcamp sounds scary and awful but you don’t need a doctor, you need something in between. This is it!
This online program works for both categories, and the ladies in between. It’s those that don’t know how badly they need it and also those where it couldn’t be more obvious. Give yourself a chance ladies, allow yourself to learn and move better. I absolutely promise you will learn something and be grateful for putting yourself first and giving yourself the gift of a pain free, leak free life!
